Monospecchio Shirt

Literally translated from Italian to mean ‘single mirror’, the term Monospecchio has been adopted by Ferrari enthusiasts to describe the early production Testarossa’s from the 1980’s (that had a distinctive single mirror mounted on the A-pillar).

Vetroresina 308 GTB Shirt

In 1975 Ferrari shocked the world by introducing its new 308 GTB with a body made in fiberglass. These early models are known amongst enthusiasts as Vetroresina cars after the Italian word for this lightweight material. The truly knowledgeable can identify one of these special cars by a thin line on the A-pillar where the steel pillar meets the fiberglass roof.

Our ‘Vetroresina’ shirt uses the font from the original company that collaborated with Ferrari to develop the fiberglass body and adds the distinctive stacked 308 GTB markings that identified the model. An additional design detail is a fine break in the continuity of the ‘V’ paying a subtle tribute to the A-pillar of the Vetroresina cars.

When Ferrari changed from carburetors to fuel injection in 1980 for the 308, they also restyled the seats with a distinctive angled stitch pattern. This is known by many as the ‘Series II’ interior, and was used until 1985 when the 308 was discontinued.

Born in the 60’s and produced into the 70’s, the Dino brand was Ferrari’s lower cost attempt to compete with Porsche. True to its period, and in keeping with their competition, Dino’s were often painted in outlandish colours. Of the available palette perhaps none was as bold as ‘Verde Germoglio’ which literally translates from Italian as (plant) bud green.
